The cohort’s first meeting: a virtual introductory workshop where fellows get to know one another and reflect on their communication styles and leadership goals.
Held online on 22 May 2026, this short session opened the programme and set up the two in-depth workshops that follow (2 June in Manchester and 7 July online with OLS).
Agenda
- 11:00 – Welcome + check-in. Fellows went into random breakout rooms to say hello and share what they were excited about.
- 11:10 – Introduction. An overview of the 2 June and 7 July agendas, plus today’s activities and pre-work.
- 11:15 – Activity 1: Communication styles. Reflecting on your own style, then discussing in breakout rooms how to adapt when working with others.
- 11:40 – Report back from the breakout rooms.
- 11:45 – Activity 2: Leadership goals. Rating current skills, picking three areas to work on, and building an action plan for each – with a note on why sharing goals with supportive peers matters for accountability.
- 12:05 – Report back from the breakout rooms.
- 12:10 – Close.
