PeerLadder is a funded peer-mentoring programme for dRTPs from underrepresented backgrounds who are ready to step into leadership. The page below is preserved as a record of the 2026 application – sign up to our updates if you'd like to hear about a future cohort.

  • Free – all costs covered, including travel and accommodation for the in-person workshop
  • Four short questions – ~150 words each. No CV, no references
  • ~1 hour per month outside workshops

Are You Eligible?

  • You identify as part of an underrepresented group in dRTP leadership – including but not exclusive of women, disabled or neurodivergent professionals, LGBTQIA+ practitioners, and those from minority ethnic or lower socioeconomic backgrounds
  • At least three years' experience in a dRTP or equivalent technical research role
  • Based at a UK research-performing organisation
  • Genuine interest in developing your leadership – formal or informal. No prior leadership experience required.

PeerLadder is a positive-action programme: it exists specifically to support dRTPs from groups that remain underrepresented at senior levels. If you're unsure whether you fit, get in touch – we'd rather hear from you than have you self-disqualify.

The Application
