Earlier this month, PeerLadder lead Saskia Lawson-Tovey attended the UK Reproducibility Network’s first conference in Manchester on 8th and 9th July 2026 to present PeerLadder.
The poster sparked some interesting conversations with attendees. PeerLadder was of interest to several dRTPs from various UK RPOs, who were looking for ways to connect with peers and work on their leadership skills. We also had some great discussions with SSI and BioFAIR colleagues about the connections between different dRTP initiatives across the UK.
Among many fascinating sessions about UKRN’s open research programme and real-world examples of UK research-performing organisations’ open and reproducible research initiatives, we presented our PeerLadder poster, highlighting the importance of supporting diverse dRTP leaders in the context of reproducibility and open research.
Bringing together people from across the research reproducibility community, the UKRN conference served as a fantastic hub to build community and collaboration, and learn about the impact of UKRN’s initiatives so far and their future plans to improve UK research.
UKRN community conference offered the team two excellent days full of opportunities to learn about the other national initiatives in the reproducibility space. Hearing how peer-mentoring appeals to so many and fills a definitive gap in existing leadership training was inspiring to keep things moving forward and continue to grow PeerLadder.
